Indulge in some of the best relaxed style and comfort that Kangaroo Island has to offer. Hamilton House was completely rebuilt in 2018, while still retaining the 1960 period details and family memories enjoyed in this special multi-generational home.

Privately set back on a 4,000 sqm block, on the prime Emu Bay foreshore, Hamilton House is just 100m from the action of the jetty and boat ramp, playground and cricket pitch. Most importantly, it is only 100m from Emu Bay’s pristine white sandy beach.

Charm and Character

Relax and unwind, surrounded by collectible furniture, vintage carpets found in Shanghai, and family heirlooms. The international and local art, shell collections, French fireplace and bespoke fittings all combine to create a character and charm unique to Hamilton House and are worth a stay in itself.  
Entertaining is what Hamilton does best. The contemporary kitchen is fitted out with top of the range appliances, cooking utensils, vintage and hand made crockery, cook books and napery. The dining table has fed 3 generations and enjoyed many conversations.

Outdoor Living

After a day of walking on one of the world’s best beaches, boating, swimming with dolphins, jagging squid off the jetty, paddle boarding or touring the island, sink into the stylish sun lounges and listen to the birds.

Wander through the large garden and look for penguins, koalas and goannas. Kick a footy on the expanse of seafront lawn. BBQ and dine on the private deck overlooking Emu Bay.
